New Arrival from Costa Rica
April 2, 2026
This organic coffee is sourced from smallholder farms in the La Amistad region of southern Costa Rica, where high-altitude cloud forests, rich volcanic soils, and consistent rainfall create exceptional conditions for growing specialty Arabica coffee. Grown under dense shade within the UNESCO-recognized La Amistad Biosphere Reserve, the coffee develops slowly, allowing complex sugars and bright acidity to fully form.
The coffee is cultivated by small family farms working through cooperative networks that support organic certification and SMBC Bird Friendly standards, ensuring both environmental protection and high cup quality. After selective hand-harvesting of fully ripe cherries, the coffee is fully washed, then fermented and carefully dried on raised beds in cool mountain air to preserve clarity and sweetness.
The resulting cup is clean and vibrant, with tasting notes commonly including citrus, green apple, milk chocolate, and floral undertones. It features a crisp acidity, medium body, and a smooth, refreshing finish that reflects its high-altitude forest origin and meticulous washed processing.
