The Organic Timor Leste coffee generally comes from smallholder farms in the Ermera municipality of Timor‑Leste, one of the country’s main coffee‑producing highland regions where steep terrain and rich volcanic soil create excellent growing conditions for specialty coffee. The farms involved are typically very small (often less than 1–1.5 hectares) and organized around local groups or cooperatives such as Café Brisa Serena or similar village producer groups in places like Eratoi or Ducurai villages. Organic practices are the norm — much of Timor‑Leste’s coffee is grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides — and shade‑grown under traditional systems.
