Cuba Mia Decaf - Whole Bean & Ground-To-Order

Our best-selling coffee is now available in a decaf version. This Cuban-inspired decaf coffee blend is made with 100% Arabica organic beans decaffeinated with a clean and chemical-free Mountain Water Process. It has a bold flavor that is balanced with a smooth finish. This coffee is ideal for those looking to avoid caffeine, but still enjoy the taste of Cuban coffee.

DEEP & ROUNDED

Our Cuba Mia Decaf Signature Blend is a certified USDA Organic and Fairtrade coffee. The beans used in this dark roast are grown in safe and healthy working conditions, where farmers and producers receive a fair price and have a voice in how their workplace is run.

ROASTING

Artizan Coffee uses a complex, time-consuming and skilled process known as “split-roasting” technique for this blends. This is where each component in the blend is roasted at different temperatures and for different durations before being blended in order to achieve the optimal flavor, body, and complexity.

DECAFFEINATION

The decaffeination process begins with exceptionally grown and prepared green coffees from some of the finest farms around the globe. This is an important distinction because the decaffeination process can at best preserve the original character of the bean. One must start with an excellent coffee if we intend to achieve an excellent decaffeinated coffee.

The Mountain Water Process green coffee beans are immersed in filtered water in order to extract the caffeine. The caffeine is separated from the water by being passed through charcoal filters. This water contains the soluble flavor compounds of the coffee that are then reintroduced to the beans in the immersing tank. In the immersing tank the beans reabsorb the filtered water containing the coffee’s original flavors. The result is 99.9% caffeine free and 100% chemical free coffee. We are big proponents of the Mountain Water Process not only because it removes caffeine from the coffee bean without the use of harmful chemicals or the creation of harmful byproducts, but also because it does so quite seamlessly while leaving each coffees flavors intact. We believe that decaffeinated coffee drinkers drink coffee for one reason, to experience the wonderful aromas and flavors of a coffee without experiencing the effects of caffeine. We only offer decaffeinated coffees that we enjoy drinking and that are excellent examples of the origins from which they come.

Mountain Water Process has been approved by the USDA National Organic Program to decaffeinate our Organic Fair Trade Certified coffees.
