October 31, 2025

The Organic Nicaraguan SHG coffee comes from small family-owned farms that are part of the UCA San Juan del Río Coco cooperative in the Madriz region of northern Nicaragua. Grown at approximately 1,300 meters above sea level, these farms follow sustainable, shade-grown agricultural practices that protect local biodiversity and support soil health. The cooperative is known for its commitment to quality and ethical production, with many of its coffees carrying Organic, Fair Trade, and Bird-Friendly® (SMBC) certifications. Each farmer carefully cultivates and selectively harvests their cherries, often using their own small-scale processing facilities, resulting in a clean and well-balanced cup profile. This region is celebrated for producing coffees with smooth sweetness, gentle acidity, and nuanced flavor notes that reflect its high-altitude terroir.
